Gary Groves

Chief Executive Officer

Gary started his career in the NSW Police Force.  For over 24 years, Gary  worked in a number of roles in NSW Government including a number of senior executive roles. For eight years he served as the Executive Director in Family and Community Services, more recently for the Stronger Communities Investment and Inclusion Directorate. He was recruited to lead the COVID-19 response on behalf of the Department of Communities and Justice.  In this capacity, he established the Vulnerable Priority Cohorts Strategy Group which delivered calculated, adaptive social policy changes and highly effective operational services.

Gary has worked closely with Ministers from NSW Government and Agencies to orchestrate a suite of strategies and frameworks including the NSW Carers Strategy 2020-2030; NSW Ageing Strategy; Whole-of-Government Outcomes Framework for Vulnerable Families and an overhaul of the Child Protection System.

Gary demonstrates a strategic mindset that, in its forward-looking focus, understands the role of data in high quality decision making.

He also consistently displays a strong sense of personal integrity and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.  He joined JewishCare in 2021 as CEO.

Warren Hurst

Community and Donor Engagement Manager

Warren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Masters in Marketing. He has worked in government, private and not for profit sectors. He commenced working for the State Government as an Investment Analyst for GIO and then research analyst for Department of Industrial Development and Decentralisation, before establishing a number of start-up businesses including indoor sporting centres and retail and wholesale licenced sporting apparel.

He joined JewishCare as Manager of Print35 and has since worked in a number of roles in the organisation including  Executive Officer (2007-2021) where he was responsible for overseeing marketing and brand management.  In 2021 he was appointed as the Community and Donor Engagement Manager.

Tamara Leizer

Head of Finance

Tamara is highly experienced in operating in diverse and sensitive environments in both the public and private sectors and has supported various not-for-profit organisations as a board member, mentor and a volunteer.

Tamara is both a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, and her career includes over 30 years of delivering results across financial management and reporting, strategy development and implementation, stakeholder engagement, corporate services, continuous improvement programs, governance and risk management, policy and performance, and capability development.

Prior to joining JewishCare in September 2022, she led the Program Management Office for Fast Rail at Transport for NSW, and her career history includes NSW Treasury, Housing NSW, KPMG, NSW Public Service Commission, Transfield and Transfield-Worley, State Street Australia, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dalit Tendler

Chief Operating Officer

Dalit holds a BA in Statistics and continued studies for a Masters at the Technion Haifa in Business Management and later became a Graduate from Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2013.

She has over 20 years of experience working with multinational Blue Chip FMCG international companies, she joined JewishCare in a Business Development role in 2014 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2021. Dalit is an entrepreneurial strategic leader specialising in Marketing and Business Development. She brings a commercial approach focusing on consumers and clients, to the changing world of Not for Profits.

Emma Smith

Chief People & Culture Officer

Emma has over 15 years’ experience as a people, culture and capability practitioner, experienced in leading organisational development initiatives aligned to business priorities. Emma has worked in various sectors including mining, resources and professional services.

During this time Emma has specialised in stakeholder management, coaching and supporting people and business through change. During her career Emma has worked as Community Liaison Officer in regional WA, HR Manager (AU & Asia) and most recently National Head of Talent & Capability.

Joining JewishCare in December 2022, Emma feels that her role provides her with the opportunity to bring genuine purpose to her work and add value to an impressive team that provides vital community care.

Tanya Scaife

Head of Learning and Development

Tanya Scaife has been in the Learning and Development space for over 15 years and has experience in leading organisational change management programs, developing workforce plans, talent management strategies as well as building induction programs to ensure success and leverage capability development. With her strong interpersonal skills, she has facilitated in national conferences and delivered workshops across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. Tanya’s approach to deploying intelligent solutions is through open collaboration and acknowledging the value in individual thoughts and ideas.

Tanya is a qualified Neuro Linguistics Practitioner and holds qualifications in project management, Everything DiSC, advanced instructional design and workplace training and assessment. When asked what attracted her to join the Jewish Care family, she explained that she believed we all have a superpower, and her goal is to use hers for good and in a way which will directly impact the community.

Her personal “why” she describes is to educate and mobilize individuals to take action in contributing and creating a positive and lasting impact to the world. She has been a recipient of leadership and values awards in her previous organisations and is an active committee member of the Animal Welfare League NSW and a volunteer for Pets in the Park supporting pets of the homeless community.

Tanya is a passionate supporter of inclusion and a proud ally of the LGBTIQ community. She recently stepped forward as JewishCare’s first LGBTIQ Executive Champion.

Jade-Zofii Alexander

Head of Clinical Care, Quality Assurance and Compliance

Jade Alexander started her career as a trauma counsellor working with sex workers who had experienced violence at work. It was during this time that she developed an interest in human rights, social justice and the biopsychosocial impacts of trauma.

With 18 years’ experience in clinical care provision Jade has worked as specialist consultant with NSW Police Detectives, the Department for Defence and numerous health and tertiary organisations championing best practice innovation in healthcare across prevention, early intervention, medical management and critical incident services.

In the last eight years Jade has successfully lead clinical, strategic and operational services across corporate and health organisations specialising in actioning complex governance, ensuring clinical legislative compliance, the provision of ethical integrated care, operational conformance and performance standards at a state and national level.

In September 2021 Jade commenced work as the Head of Clinical Care, Quality Assurance and Compliance - Corporate Services with JewishCare, covering Aged-Care, Disability and Mental Health (FaCS) service provision.

Jade presents regularly as a subject matter expert at conferences nationally and internationally, specialising in: Complex Trauma, Biopsychosocial Case Management, Organisational Resilience, Creating Mentally Healthy Workspaces, Working with Vulnerable Populations and Vicarious Trauma Management.

Bronwyn Elbourne

Head of Community Aged Services

Bronwyn has worked in the Aged Care sector since 1991 in a field she is very passionate about. She has worked across local government, residential and community aged care and has worked in the Jewish Community for 20 years.

Along with her years of experience in the sector Bronwyn holds a Masters in Gerontology, Bachelor of Social Science Degree, Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management, Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management and is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Dementia Care .

With her passion giving back to the community, Bronwyn volunteers her time on the Randwick Council Cultural Diversity & Equity Advisory Committee, Maccabi NSW, NSW Swimming and the Eastern Suburbs Special Olympics Swim Events.

She was Senior Manager of the Burger Centre from 2014 until moving to JewishCare as Interim Manager, Aged Care Services in September 2022.

Christina Caddy-Gold

Executive Manager, Burger Centre

Christina has worked within the Jewish Community for over 30 years across a variety of sectors including homelessness, family support services (including Domestic and Family Violence and Prison Outreach), and Aged Care.

Along with her years of experience within these sectors Christina holds a Bachelor of Social Work with Merit from UNSW, a Gradate Diploma in Design, a Master’s in Design from UTS, a Certificate IV in Mental Health and she completed Psychological Strategies in Mental Health through UNE. She also graduated the Launchpad Leadership Program through Australian Jewish Funders and graduated from a Community Leadership program through the Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies.

Christina is passionate about empowering others towards long-term positive outcomes and has volunteered her time with many community organisations such as Maccabi NSW, Our Big Kitchen, a various synagogues and not-for-profit organisations.

Christina enjoys her current role as Executive Manager of the Burger Centre. She feels extremely fortunate to offer her time and service to the more senior members of our community and their families.

The Burger Centre is a wellbeing day centre for senior citizens in the Jewish and wider community. Their programs aim to bring joy, enhance the capability of older people to stay independent in their own homes, and to facilitate social connections within the community, in a sophisticated, culturally appropriate, warm, and meaningful way.
